Sometimes it’s easy to assume that the more tightly controlled and line-itemed your finances are, the better. But actually, we need to build in Room.
Room allows us to be spontaneous. And spontaneity is an invaluable component of any relationship, our relationship with money not excluded.
But without Room–without having gone through the discipline of intentionally making space for spontaneous acts of generosity, or spending, or action–spontaneity becomes unsustainable and potentially destructive.
So build Room, and then make the very, very most of it.
