“The myth of our age is that we will only be happy if we get what we want.” – Ed Gungor
If you insist on believing that the exchange of dollars for some thing that can be made will bring any lasting sense of happiness, then you will never achieve any lasting sense of happiness.
Convenience is not happiness. Status is not happiness. The clothes you wear are not happiness. The car you drive is not happiness. The house you live in is not happiness. These might be nice things that make life easier, perhaps more palatable. They might even be good, fun things that you enjoy as you pursue happiness. But don’t get it twisted: you pinning your happiness hopes on those will leave you in a mess of disappointment.
