Stolen credit cards and strange decisions

Recently someone tried to use my credit card information to eat a meal at Chili’s and book a hotel room in some random town in Virginia. This, to me, is a strange way to go about spending money from stolen credit card information, but then again, who am I to judge? Personally, I would have switched the Chili’s for Cookout, at least.

Maybe you thought this would be a tutorial about how to cancel your credit card when you get a text alert saying someone used your credit card in another state at Chili’s (the text in itself was interesting because it was very unclear if it was legitimate), but no.

This is really just a tip for if you ever want to feel wanted: offer your credit card information on a random internet message board and wait for the enterprising thief to go to Chili’s. By the time you cancel your card and get home you’ll have at least six emails from customer service reps wanting you to call them. You will have a captive audience on the phone until you give them the new numbers.

[Don’t actually do this.]
