I spent the morning at my son’s preschool spreading mulch and powerwashing playground equipment and generally cleaning with a bunch of other parents. It was hot work, but I love that we do it–it gives an opportunity to meet other parents and keeps us engaged with everything that’s going on.
But I thought of something as I was spreading mulch: having the right tools is incredibly important. I thought this, because I thought I brought the right tool (a rake), but one of the other dads owns a landscaping company and he brought THE right tool (a Bobcat). A job that took us three hours to do would have taken us rake-carriers closer to three days, probably.
Some tools I can think of when it comes to our finances:
- Patience
- Friends
- Perspective
- Time
- Advice
- Quiet
- Priorities
- Contentment
