You can join a gym. You still have to go.
You can commit in January to start eating better. You still need to be eating broccoli when August comes around.
You can read about saving. You can nod in full agreement to the importance of saving. You still have to not spend the dollars.
You can tell your son you’re going to shoot baskets with him when you get home from work. It will probably put a smile on his face. You still have to do it.
I could go on and on. We have lots of ways to make the doing more likely–I was even talking with some friends last night about an app that is designed to get you to commit to daily, attainable practices rather than getting run over by big bold goals. But as good as these things are, as helpful as they can be, you still have to do the work.
