Here’s a reminder that being thankful–choosing to be thankful–is supremely helpful in getting you to a state of contentment. Like, just look at something around you right now and find it in yourself to be thankful for it. Do it. Then do it a couple more times. The more you do it, the less you’ll daydream about replacing those things, and the less you’ll go out (or stay in on Amazon) and spend more money on more things you don’t need and that won’t make you happier to begin with.
There’s a day coming up devoted to this practice of Thankfulness, but as one of my best friends said Sunday, “make today a warmup for the main event.” The more thankful we are, the better we’ll leave this world of ours when we’re gone.
