My doctor recently remarked to me in an offhand sort of way that it’s amazing how many physical ailments can be cured or at least greatly improved by behavioral changes. Diet, exercise, sleep, therapy, time outside, time away from screens, etc. Sometimes drugs and surgeons have to get involved of course, but behavior is where most of the improvement lies.
The same is true with your money. At the root of most improvements in your financial situation is not a particular stock fund, not some sort of complex transaction, not an inheritance. Instead, there are just a handful of healthy behaviors. The hard part is committing to them.
