I heard Thierry Henry say on a podcast that “as an athlete, you die when you stop playing…and no one teaches you how to die.” When your entire life is wrapped up in a thing and that thing goes away, then necessarily some meaningful part of your life will follow it. Henry had to learn to die, and in many ways life is full of deaths we must come to grips with as well.
Money can do many things, but it cannot help you avoid any sort of death.
