Here’s a slide show I found yesterday on the Triangle Business Journal’s website with the somewhat misleading title of “Raleigh’s richest ITB streets.” Basically it’s “Raleigh’s most expensive ITB streets,” which is another thing entirely, but oh well.
For the uninitiated (I didn’t say plebeian, but…), “ITB” stands for “Inside the Beltline.”
Anyway, I get to brag about this list because I used to live on the street which is the exact median of the list at number 13, Harvey Street (Neighborhood: Hayes Barton, Average Property Value: $1,110,076). It’s a neighborhood on a downtrend, and we saw the writing on the wall, so we got out at just the right time. The average property value on our current street is almost exactly one tenth of $1,110,076, so you do the math on how huge my bank account must be right now.
Just kidding, we rented a back house on Harvey Street for $500 a month, but I bet for a second as you were reading my story you thought I was really a very cool person, right? No? Interesting.
