Going to the doctor

I have not been to a doctor for a checkup since the summer before my senior year in high school. I’m not saying this because I’m proud, but because it’s the truth. My wife and I have discussed slash yelled about this truth a number of times, and this has all culminated in her sending me calendar invites to make an appointment with a doctor, because otherwise I will absolutely not think to do it during the day.

I’m most definitely NOT proud that it has come to this, but some part of living in a world with competing priorities is doing whatever is necessary to get over the hump of procrastinating things which are incredibly important but not terribly urgent (at least as we perceive them).

When you’ve got amazing people in your corner keeping you from doing stupid things (like not going to the doctor), you’ll have better outcomes.
